Processing time of Visitor Visa from India.!!

Can anyone there share his/her experience on the timeframe required for the visitor visa process from India??
On the site it is mentioned that it will take 9 days but mine has gone more than that. :-[ ( I had applied on 12th of June).
Is anyone there experiencing the same?? What can be done now to know the status of the application??
Please help.

the time of 9 days is based on the AVERAGE of processing times in 2013. Real processing time for every one varies...some are finalized in a day, some in 3-4 weeks...so don't be worried. good luck!

My experience is bit different
I Got my VISA in 2 days
Applied in Chandigarh Office on first day
Second day evening I recd message stating that they have dispatched my Passport back.
and the next day I recd passport in Ludhiana Punjab.

It differs from case to case.
I have applied online visa for my parents on June 29 and got the passport request after three days.and today they received their passports back with stamp.
Usually its bit faster in India from Delhi consulate.
but anyways there is not way to contact the Consulate directly.Just have to wait .Hope you will hear from them very soon.

Ohk..I applied through VFS Delhi.. but still waiting.. ... I dnt know what do they do by keeping the passport for soo long.

They have to transfer ur Passport before End Of Day
Call the and ask them if they have transferred it to Consulate.

I applied online on June 5 for my parents but it says status as OPEN.

I wonder since they live in Haryana, India hence their visa application will go to Chandigarh or Delhi consulate? Its been more then a month now. :

Yeah, the file has been transferred to Consulate and on the CIC web site it is saying that the file is with Tracking Id XXXXXX is being processed at the Canada Visa Office, NEW DELHI.Its almost 1 month that i am getting this status..really fed up now..

Same here bro..My file is with them since 12 June. Your file should be transferred to New Delhi Office.
