My husband submitted the complete application package for sponsorship in CPC-Mississauga and they received it on Nov 14,2012 (this is what we got from the courier we used from Italy, we did not receive any confirmation from CPC). We checked in CIC website and actually it seems they are working on the application received on Jan.29, 2013 for Step 1!!!!! My husband until now did not receive any note, letter, communication from them about the "validity! to be sponsor..... I understood that, from outside Canada, we cannot contact them, but we can write an email to the visa office in Rome. We wrote yesterday and we received only an eletronic reply in which they inform that they cannot answer to each question and that we have to referr to canadian immigration web site........We don't know how to get some information regarding our application and from who......do you have any number to contact somebody ,somewhere??????? Many thanks!

The office at Mississauga doesn't usually send acknowledgment of receipt so you don't normally hear from them until sponsorship approval. Some applications may take longer to be assessed for the first stage (sponsor assessment). If you included your email address in your application form, make sure you check your inbox or the spam folder, because sometimes the email program might get confused and send things in the spam bin.

you may also want to join the November 2012 thread <a href="http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/november-2012-applicants-unite-t123516.0.html">here</a> and compare your progress to other people in that month.

alternatively, you could designate someone in Canada as your representative or authorize them to process inquiries on your behalf so that they contact the Call Centre to see if they have information on your file.

There are still a lot of people who submitted their applications in November who have not heard anything yet. Feel free to join the November thread and if you would like to join the spreadsheet let me know. One suggestion that has been sent is to try this number.. however not everyone from out of country has been able to reach the call centre. Others have suggested having someone in Canada initiate a three-way call where you can talk to someone.

Someone you trust, though I am not sure how it works, as they won't just give information to anyone. Another route is to send a case specific email to CIC and ask directly about your file. I have heard some did that and got a response.

Nope.. and your lucky to get one!! Not everyone gets one!

If you don't get an AOR, how are you supposed to find the tracking information for your application?

I thought that this was the mechanism for letting you know your ecas reference?

It is, however it is not reliable. Many people never recieve an AOR. They just wait until they get sponsor approval for their File number and UCI.

Call an 1-613-944-4000 and go with the options you will hear, we had the same issues that me & my wife in Egypt and we never heard anything till we called this #, with calling this # at least we get our Client # and we have the chance to get in E-Case

I have added you, can you please advise when your medicals were done. Have you heard anything from CIC in regards to stage one?? After calling their MPs a few November applicants have gotten good news.. hope it speeds up for ya!
