Hi everyone,

I sponsored my Dad May 2005 and this was approved in Miss ofc in July 2007. The file was sent to Manila office and this case has been in process since December 2007.

Upon checking CIC website, the current proccessing time for parents and grandparents is up to 25 months but this message is contrary to what is written in Manila embassy website. According to their website, Manila office processing time only take up to 24 months and they are currently doing applications received early 2008(Parents & Grandparents).

I sent an email to the embassy to follow up and haven't heard anything. My dad competed his medical last May which is about to expire in the next 4 months. Passport was also sent six months ago.

I know this category is the slowest so far but I believe we've already reached the maximum waiting time for this application.

Anybody has the same scenario? I appreciate your feedback.

Thank you!

You should note the times are an "average" and you are quoting the average numbers for 80% of their cases. You have a sent a request to the CHC, the only other thing you can do is get a representative authorization from your father and apply for CAIPS.

Thanks PMM.

Can you please let me know how I can order CAIPS? How much does this cost and how long do I need to wait to get a reply from them.

Thanks again!

we have the same experienced here. It's one year now that my application has been forwarded to Visa Office Manila. Just recently, we are advise to pay for the Right of Permanent Residence Fee. I don't know how long are we going to wait again.

I suggest if you could visit the visa office personally to let them know that you keep waiting for your application. Btw, is your application under Family Class?

1. You need an authorization from your parents, $5, and it takes about 30 days. Follow the instructions here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/faq.asp#Q4

Upon checking ECAS today, my Dad's application is now changed to Decision made.
I hope this is a positive sign and hoping to receive passports with visa this week.

Thank you!
