You were right askcanada! I got the letter in my inbox today! We are so happy they are finally processing my case. I have a question, in the letter they asked me to undergo again with the medicals, right after that i did an appointment at the dr office and then i noticed that in the letter cic sent me it says that an e mail with instructions regading medicals will be sent to my e mail and if i don't get it in 2 days i should send them an e-mail for them to send it again to me. Now here is my question, since i already made an appointment but didn't receive the medical instruction mail yet should i take the medicals tomorrow as planned or should i wait 2 days until i get the instructions from cic (i have my file number and the letter they asking me for re-do my medicals)..we are getting closer to be together!!! So happy!!
You HAVE to take the Medical Form with you as ours' was filled out by the Embassy already (it also had a special number). So I think you have to wait for that, and take it with you. But when in doubt, best to contact CIC and the Embassy.

Good luck to you!

Hi everyone, I am sponsoring my Peruvian husband to come live with me in Canada. Our application was file in October of 2012, I was approved to be his sponsor at the end of October of 2012. We didn't hear anything back from them until August of 2013 because someone had suggested that we apply for visitor visa which apparently forces them to look at your application, therefore turns into "Processing". My husband had an interview scheduled on October 28th 2013, things were starting to pick up... at least we thought... We have not heard back anything since. I've emailed them and all they tell me is that its still "under evaluation" and tell me their lovely catch phrase "wait until we contact you".

Has anyone experienced such a long delay after the interview? I've contacted our MP, but he doesn't seem to respond to his constituents. Now we are at 15 months since they received the file in Lima and the CIC website shows that they are down to 13 months of processing time rather than 16 months, which is what they had before. I've ordered the GMCS notes and they show that the security and criminal checks have not even been started yet. The eligibility is still "in process". I don't think they realize how difficult it is for couples to go through this. We can't afford to fly me back and forth so we haven't seen each other for a really long time. Any advice on what I should do at this point?

Oh and yeah the GMCS notes state that the medical is expired, so that will be more money spent...
