Processing time for Visitors Visa Online Application?

Wondering what's the processing time like for Visitor visa applications with new system in place (no more Detroit walk-ins..duh).

Applied online on Apr-30th (with tons of documents). Website indicates avg processing time @ US service centers to be ~35 days. Wondering what true lead time is like.. Any experiences thus far?

I applied on April 22th from Ohio. Asked for the possibility of urgent processing the application. Received an e-mail message, on May 2nd, saying urgent processing is not available and that, by that day (last Fryday, May 2nd), they were processing the applications from April 8th.

For my surprise, we've just got the message demanding the passport submission.

Its an average. You should take it like that. In here you can find cases who got it approved in the first 5 business days and people who have been waiting for more than 8 weeks.

Just a quick update on this. Received a passport submission request this morning for my entire family (4 members) -
Here's what timeline looked like for me -
Online application submission- April 29th
Confirmation of application receipt from embassy - April 30th
Received passport request - May 13th

FYI..All family members had atleast one valid US visa stamped on their passports

Hi All ,

i have appled visit visa for my mother-in-law from LA (She is on b1/b2 visa in USA) on April 4th and got the confirmation mail on april 5th.and today is may 13th no update in online till now.
Is there any thing i have to worried . i am on work permit in canada and she is willing to visit me and my wife by the may month End.
