Processing time for Visitor Visa Submitted online is 74 days

Hi, I have submitted Visitor Visa online(from India) on March 30,2017, and planned for my travel on May 10,2017 as the online portal showed the processing time as 21 days. But, It has been more than a month now, I haven't got any updates on my Visa, When I called the IRCC toll free number, the automated voice told that the online application submitted after 29Jan2017 are not processed yet and the processing time is 74 days. Now, I have cancelled the ticket and lost 480 CAD as cancellation fees. And I don't want to book another one now because, I don't know whether my VIsa will get approved or rejected

Now my concern is, I have uploaded the ticket (10Mar2017) in my application form and also the invitation letter shows 10mar2017 , but the ticket is cancelled now. Could some please guide me what to do? Will my application refused because the backdated date in the ticket and Invitation letter? Do I need to withdraw my application? If I am withdrawing my application, Will I get a refund? Someone , please advice me.

They don't make decisions on ur flight tickets.

I applied on March 15 and still waiting for my parents application status.
Awful service.
I mailed 2 times sent CSE thrice still no response except for the auto mails.
No response for calls.
 
Yeah. Do I need to inform them that I have cancelled the tickets?

I'm with you man. My wife applied on March 28 and lost 500 CAD for ticket cancellation. She applied her Aussie visa and got it within 10 days last year. We never thought this could ever happen. It's miserable.
 
Oh Yeah. I don't know why CIC still shows the processing time as 23 days. That might misguide people...

Time stated on IRCC Web is just estimate not commitment, time varies case to case and how strong we put our application supported by docs
 
The processing time should be accurate based on the average number of days for 80% visa approval and refusal.

However, what he is telling is the processing time of online TRV application. I wonder if it is a different timeline if we apply online instead via VAC...

Also, not sure if 74 days includes those study permit and work permit applications.
 
Hi , I got my Visitor Visa Approved on Monday. But I have another question here. If I get my Visa, is there any rule that I need to visit Canada within first 6 months? or I can plan my travel next summer also with this Visa
 
Congratulations!!!! What does it say on the visa? A lot of people got TRV valid until their passport expires. Check your visa.

By the way, do you know what caused the delay? Do you work in the government or military?

No, there's no rule. You can travel anytime during the validity of your visa

Thanks, I will check mine, My passport expiry date is in 2025. And I don't work for any military or anything. Mine is a clear case..
