processing time for visitor visa since the embassy in Cairo closed

hello guys i'm from Egypt and i applied for a temporary resident visa ( visitor) to visit my cousins there and this was from 2 weeks ago but now for a security reasons the Canadian embassy in Cairo is closed till future notice and i want to know when they gonna send me the passport with the reply !! as i need my passport soon so i can catch my flight to USA next month!!? this is urgent
i mean does it necessarily mean when they got the embassy closed that there is no processing for the already applied visa???

The Cairo office is not closed. The following is posted on their web site

"Important Notice

Due to disruptions, the services of the Visa Section of the Embassy of Canada may experience unusual delays. The visa office capacity to respond to enquiries is limited at this time. This situation may affect processing times for Temporary resident applications (for visitors, students and temporary workers)."

Note the processing times http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/egypt-egypte/visas/processing-traitement.aspx?view=d 4-6 weeks, maybe a little longer with the disruptions. So your application has only been there 2 weeks, well within their normal processing times.
