Processing time for spousal visa - Sri Lanka

When is ur med and police clearance expire? Have they asked your boy to submit any document after you applied?

Tks friend. they didn't call him so far over the phone or by mail. All are expired in Oct. when are they change the ecas into 'in process' status? we've submitted all the docs and paid fees too. so tired of waiting...tc

Hi Suganya,
I guess status change is depend on officer. I dont see any standarded time line for it. Few of my friends applied after me, same as your time line. Their status changed to "In Process" earlier than me even though they applied few months before them.
My status changed after 9 months. So dont worrry, relax and check with Visa office in Colombo by visiting and asking them.

hi suganya first of all welcome to the forum..........i can understand the pain of waiting for an answer.we are in the same boat....i wish they can process the file more faster...i am going to be reaching the 9 month mark all i heard from the mp is that they would like to have an interview for my hubby .....i was shocked cause i have provided lots and lots of evidance and still they want to interview him and we haven't heard from them yet .......hoping i can get some answers soon and also my meds expiries in october as well.....we just have to have our fingers crossed and hope for the best.....good luck to all you............tc god bless

watnxt and Rathika, thanks all for infor. My hubby went several times there but no anything other than wats in ecas. I'm aftraid whether its good to go there but someone asked him to go and check once in a while.Rathi, i think you melbell and me are in same timetine??? nothing to do unless wait and see....have a good day all!!! :'(

Hi Suganya, welcome to the thread. There isn't much to say other than wait. A friend of mine applied in Dec, file was received in Colombo in Jan and visa
issued last week. What is your status on Ecas? Has it changed to "in process"?

Thanks T7. At least thiss a great relief for me to share my pain with you. Oh ...yr frined is so lucky. I wonder why they even didnt change my status into in process???its still same from January 'Application received" (and Medical results have been received). Anyway I wish you'll get visa soon...please update info guys...this is so worth for us all...BTW after issuing visa is therea deadline to enter Canada??? TC..tks once again T7.

Wife landed here today, feel big relief. It looks like they have speed up the process this month. all u guys will get good news soon.

I guess I am so unlucky.. its been a month since med expired, my wife went to the embassy last week and she was told that they would call her. my wife is pregnant and she is entering her second trimester..no point of her coming here if she doesnt get visa in another month or so..

Hey Suganya. No problem at all. I am pretty sure that you'll hear something within few weeks. My meds are about to expire within few weeks and I havent heard anything. I am very frustrated.

Waiting111. Sorry to hear your concern but my friend is in the same position as you are. He's meds expired last month. Hope they call for remeds. When did you apply?

Sguanya, my hubby is here on a visitor visa. We applied in November 2010, docs sent to Colombo in Jan and our meds expired in june 2011. But they still gave him the visitor visa! so it won't effect ur file as long as you apply properly

Melbell, thanks for the info. Also tks for your efforts to start and maintain this thread. we are in same timeline but we have time to expire med. everyone here got visa within 8 months and some days after recieving to Colombo HC. Thats good. If so we are next right??? have a great weekend all!
