They check the Income first in Canada for you to pass the sponsorship application approval, then once sponsorship application is approved the file moves to your country, in this case Sri Lanka for the PR application approval.

Hello,

I would like to know if anyone has sent the application on or around August 15th, 2013, because that is when my spouse application was sent, If any one around that date please let me know so that we could correspond with each other and get to know more details. That would help either of us a little.

Application Received - August 15th 2013
File sent to your country - Sept 15th
Additional documents requested - Oct 15th

Wishing to hear from you soon.

Hi Collier,

Thank you for the answer. From your answer I believe, they check the financial situation in canada rather than Sri Lanka. From your time time, on average you received your AOR in 1 month and your file start process in a month which is fairly faster. Congrats on your application.
My friend's husband got the Visa on Friday and it took her around 6 months after it moved to Sri Lanka.

Cheers.

Good luck for everyone

Its okay if you don't have a full time job, I'm sure they understand that not everyone here is able to get full time jobs, at once at-least. As long as you find some job, it could be part time or full time.
Its just that you should be able to help your coming spouse in some way. They don't want to bring your spouse to Canada and not being able for him/her to live well.
I don't think they care whether the job is full time or part time. They know it is hard to get full time jobs. Don't worry about that, just send them what you have. They can see you have been trying. I know of people here who have been working for years through Agencies part time jobs, for some reason or the other they are not able to find full time jobs. So don't stress on that. You should be fine and trust in the Lord.

I believe everyone has different opinions. So far from what I know, we need annual income atleast $20,000 - full or parttime. We must show good income in order to support our spouse. If you don't show proper income our case gets more longer. The more you provide, the more quicker the Immigration gives visa. I am just telling this from what I known through my friends who recently sponsored their spouses. I also been talking to people who directly deal with Immigration work.
