Processing time for spousal visa - Sri Lanka

Hey Rathika,

Hope you are doing good Well yeah he's here, and we are grateful for that. But he hates staying at home. He wants to work as well. So that's the tough part of the whole thing. Besides that really nothing we can complain about.

At this point, we're just happy that we have eachother. But still cant do a lotta things like moving to a new place etc etc. We are still very careful about those things because we don't know when he will get his visa and once he does, we don't know where he might work...

But stay strong. It's worth it trust me.

hey my hubby called me today saying he got the approval letter yesterday iam so happy since my hubby email was not accessible as he forgot his password we had to wait till the letter was posted but finally we got the letter yesterday

Hi girls,

I have been reading your posts and I am very happy for the ones who got reunited with their hubbies and I wish the best of luck to the ones who are still waiting!
I am a Canadian who lived in Abu Dhabi for a few years and had a nanny from Sri Lanka! Very nice lady and she treated my kids like her own... As she has no family back in Sri Lanka, my husband and I thought a lot about it and we decided that it would be very nice if we can offer her a better life, as we kind of consider her part of our family. My two boys got very attached to her and they miss her very much. We tried to bring her on a visit visa for the beginning and she got denied! We also tried the live-in caregiver program, where she can stay with us and work for us but after two years she can have residency and do whatever she wants... but she got denied again!
Does anyone have any ideas? I mean why deny her? She is such a good person and she deserves a better life! Do you know of any other way that I try to bring her into Canada? She really wants to come here and be with us!!! Please help! Thanks a lot, Andreea.

Hmmm I don't really know how that could work although I do know a Sri Lankan family that got their nanny down when they migrated. All the documents were sumbitted together I think Andrea. But besides that I am a little lost. A few reasons why they would deny is based on any blemishes that your nanny may have. Also, you have to have really really solid proof for everything. And finally the embassy is totally unpredictable on their decision making.

For an example - My mom tried to visit me twice. She has property in Sri Lanka along with a lot of other reasons to go back. But they refused her. My husband who has very little ties got his Visitor Visa twice!! Once before the PR processing and the 2nd time, after the docs were submitted.

I will see if I can find something else and let you know in any case.

Rathika, Sharmi - No news from any of you!! What's going on?? We went to the MP last week and they had sent an inquiry to Colombo. But still no response. So waiting, waiting and more waiting as usual.
