Processing time for spousal visa - Sri Lanka

Hey guys, Can someone help me understand the background check.
From Day one Back ground check stated "We are Processing your background check" now it changed to "your application in process and we will send you message when we start your background check"

Why it change like that

We submitted ours under spouse sponsorship in Nov 2018.

The medical and biometrics are completed in May 2019 and we were asked for an additional document in June.
Have not heard anything ever since and the Background status states — we are are processing your BG check we will send you a msg....

How long did you wait for the BG status to change ?

I got my medical exam request in mid August. Is passport is really needed to do the medical at Asiri? My passport is at IRCC office since I've applied for a TRV due to an emergency. I didnt receive my passport yet, eventhough it has been more then 15 days since I applied for TRV. please advice. Does VFS global cettify passport copies? So that I can take those copies and letter saying that passport is at IRCC office to my medical exam? Please advice

Took a very long time. July 19, 2018 applicant - no updates after medical in December.

Could you please let me know the timeline of your application please. From AOR to medical request.

We applied on March 16th, Got AOR April 20th and Biometrics on May and Just got my medical.

How long I can expect PPR ?
