I am new to this page. I have applied for sponsorship for my husband. I sent the application on October 17, 2013 and we received our approval on November 21, 2013. I just want to know how long will it take for his visa approval? We checked the status on the website but it still hasn't said if the documents has been transferred to Sri Lanka. How long will it take to be transferred?

Welcome aboard. Just an idea for your time-frame, I applied in August 15th. my file was sent to Srilanka September 15th and am still waiting, my wife was told by some source at the embassy they do not work on each file individually, they do it in groups, so I guess they collect a few months together and work on it together, if you read earlier trends it will show you that some people who applied in May, June, July got their visas in November, so if you are lucky may be you do not have to wait that long. Could be that August, September and October will be called together. But its definitely is a few months wait.

You sound right. My friend who filed his files on September 6,2013 got her visa and she arrived here today. I spoke with him and he said, he didn't do anything different. Seems ur lucky 15 work fr you this time as well.

I think your friend is definitely lying with the dates. Any way I don't think I am waiting for the 15th. Because according to my job I am not able to take vacation till after tax season so I really don't mind waiting for another 3 months.

Well I do not know but i know he got married on August 16th and his wife is in Canada. I dont know how true he is but it is good though. in my case, i just applied. so I dont need to worry much for now

Thank you for your response . Oh do they really? I was not aware of that. I read all these comments here. It's really hard to say because it varies for everyone. There is no one trend to why some people get their visas so fast and others don't. Did your status on the CIC website indicate that they are working on your file or not yet? If you don't mind me asking... When did you and your wife get married? It's really nice meeting you. I am glad we found someone who applied near the time we did.

I married in July, but applied in August, No my status does not say they are working on it, but I got an email from them saying so. Hope this helps.
