Delf A2 as far as I know will get you 6 point out of 16, for your wife A1 is 1 point. Band 6 in IELTS is 4 points. For area of training you will get 6 points. So depending on age, spouse education and children you might be able to pass the 57 point to be admitted to interview.
Another thing I know from people who already went through the procedure is that TEFAQ and TCFAQ are easier and the chance to get better result is bigger ;D Anyways try to count your points and see how far you go!
thanks ton40.

are your information are reliable ? I think 6 band in IELTS will get 6 points. Before oct 2009 it was so. but I don't know today's new rules. when I had applied in 2007. they gave me 6 points even in IELTS 5.5 band. and my wife got 2 points from DELF A1 but I don't know how much will I get from DELF A2. and similarly I didn't get point from area of training. So I'm very much confuse on area of training. what should we need to show them to get points from Area of training . hope answer from seniors

Ok, so if you want to get points for area of training you need to have obtained your diploma in the last 5 years, thats what I think!
According to the chart I looked you will get the points I told you, if you want you can check it out too. This chart was posted on Dec 2009 so I think its still pretty accurate.

you are right i think your wife will get 2 points for a1, i think i counted it wrong last time. when was last time when you took delf, check it out if it has an expiration date, cuz they might not accept it? if it was long time ago and you need to take it once again, go for the TEFAQ or TCFAQ!

Hey Ton 40,

thanks for sharing that particular link abt french points..one doubt..it states on 3 points for principal applicant out of 8 for DELF A2...but i guess total is calculated from 16 overall..so it gets doubled to 6 for DELF A2..right??

Shahi

For IELTS to get 6 point (which is the maximum) you need to have: listening 6.5+ band, speaking 7.0+band
I hope that helps!

yes, shahi you got it right brotha! When you take these test your levels of expression orale and comprehension orale might be different, for example if you have expr orale c1, compr orale b2, then you sum both and you get 14 points.

Alright Bro..thanks for this info..looks encouraging!!
