Processing time for Open work permit?

Hello All,
My wife is a Canadian and I applied for inbound PR Immigration under Spousal Sponsorship along with an Open Work Permit (OWP) application for myself to able to work during the process time and stay legal in the country. I have mailed all completed documents that were received in the Mississauga, Ontario Center in Dec 9, 2019 and they sent me application number in Feb 9, 2020 (8 weeks).

Now I am wondering is the processing time for my PR & OWP starts from the the date my application was received to them in December 2019 or from the time I received an application number from them in February 2020.

Also how long usually they take to approve and issue OWP as I am currently on implied status and not able to work and this is depressing time for me.

It will be approved 4-5 months from the time you submitted the original application package.

Children will need either a TRV or eTA to travel to Canada, depending on what passports they hold.
