Processing time for ICT work permit

ICT GSS APPROVED and Passport Request Letter received. See below for timeline:
- Application submitted on April 20, 2020 from USA with NOC code: 0111
- Biometrics Submitted at ASC on July 13th
- Sent letter on August 14th to IRCC at email: IRCC.COVID-TravelExemptions-Exemptionsdevoyage-COVID.IRCC@cic.gc.ca on Employer Letterhead and signed by Employer to expedite application due to critical nature of role in Canada
- Application Approved on August 18th (2 business days after sending employer letter) and received passport request letter

Please be hopeful and if you can get employer letter to expedite processing, your application can be approved in 2 days!

Letter from the employer’s Canadian counterpart requesting IRCC to expedite my visa due to the critical nature of the role to the people of Canada.

That is great, any chance of sharing roughly how they made your job seem essential during the pandemic?

I can then ask our HR to see if they can issue a similar letter.

My company manufactures commercial cleaning supplies and other consumer household goods, so it was easy to talk about the relevance of these goods during the pandemic.

Also received passport request letter along with approval. Will be sending the passport tomorrow to NYC VAC.

I received my biometrics correspondence letter the day of the approval. The approval was definitely due to the letter my employer sent. Since July 13th (biometrics submission date), my application status was in background check until my employer sent the letter and I suddenly received approval letter with passport request within 2 days of the letter submission.

I haven't seen any IRCC website stating that you can send such letters to the email address mentioned above to expedite the process. And my the immigration office of my employer said that IRCC is not accepting any requests to expedite work-permit applications. Am I missing something? Or has anyone seen such a process to expedite their work-permit application?

Just FYI - Work Permit, Student Visa and Visitor visas are all examples of TRV.

Does IRCC also has premium processing for ICT WP like USCIS has for H1B/L1 for which the result comes in 15 calendar day?

Its called GSS (Priority Processing) but not premium per se need to pay just extra amount, "an application must strictly meet the GSS requirements."

But this time during Pandemic no 2 weeks processing, I am GSS applied since March up to now still waiting.
