Processing time for ICT Work Permit from India

Hi All,

I am new to this thread and looking for some guidance.

I have an offer for an ICT and my company’s lawyers have submitted the work permit application for the same (timelines below). I have below questions

1. Since FSW draws are expected to start from July, Can I claim 50 points for a job offer? If yes, what information would I need?

2. Can I also apply for Ontario PNP with the job offer? If yes, what support do I need from my company? And given the PNP timelines, is it worth it?

3. While my work permit processing is in progress, can I apply for a visitor visa to Canada as I intend to visit my family there? Will it intervene with the work permit application?

1. No you can’t claim 50 points on LMIA exempted permit. You need one year of Canadian work experience.
2. If elgible depending on stream. Employer has to fill out forms and the company needs to meet eligibility requirements. All on OINP site.
3. You can. Different programs and processing.

Depends if you are GSS or Non GSS category. if GSS, its about 65-70 days from Biometrics submission, if non GSS, then it will take longer. Can refer to IRCC processing time for that.

Hi Rahi, I applied for ICT in Apr’2022. Though I fall under 2 weeks processing time, no action taken so far. Overall, I heard there is a lot of delay in ICT application processing from India. Please keep us posted if your application gets any attention in near future.

My consultant told that my application is applicable for 2 weeks processing time. But no response so far.

Ok, Thanks for your reply. Mine is also similar to your timeline.
Filed on 29th April, Biometric on 10th May, Upfront medical, GSS, LMIA Exempt, ICT. Though I fall in 2 weeks processing category but no luck so far.

While my application has been filed under GSS, my agent is telling me that GSS is not entertained since 2021 by IRCC. Is this true?

Also any views on when Police Clearance Request letter will be issued by IRCC after filing your WP application? I had stayed in HK for sometime and HK Police needs IRCC request letter to issue Police clearance certificate

Not true. GSS applications are bring processed currently and the processing time is around 75-80 days from Biometrics.
