Trust me I totally understand you!

Here is what I think...my in process on ecase is absolutely true...meaning since Nov2010 until July 2011 they did not open my file....I had written to them maybe February MArch? and they said that we were in queue for processing. So it really makes me believe that they do have a lot of cases.

As for TRV's. The forms have changed. I do not know if you have ever requested one in the past but before it was quite simple and now there are more forms similar to the format of sponsorship. But it really is just getting all the papers together. I do not know why you were denied a TRV however you can ask again...it will not hurt your processing...at the most they will say no. You just have to make sure that he has proof that he will return to Argentina.

Hey VT,

i'm happy that your application is finally moving along.
Its dissapointing to hear that it has taken so long. Hopefully they will start to move things along.
So when you contacted them earlier this year did you just ask how far along on your application they were? Or was it other specified question/.
Do you know of any applicants that applied after you did who have been processed? There doesn't seem to be many on the forum that process through argentina :(

Also to ask the same question as djy2010, what other documents did you have to provide?
Well hope processing speeds up and you get your visa soon.

I wrote to them asking about the status of our application and they responded "in queue for processing" and they also added the link of the timeline for Argentina. It does not look like there are a lot of family sponsorships if you base it on this forum only however we will never really know how many family sponsorships they really have. I know of people who are applying through the skilled worker program.

The other documents requested are specifically related to my hubby's case..again every situation is different...if you have traveled more, if you have kids, etc....

I really hope that all of your processing will come through. I have been where you are all at now...and the best advice I can give you is just be patient...it will all fall into place at the right time!

hey guys!

I was going around the embassy's website (a bit desperate..) and i saw this! so maybe it could take off a bit of work from the TRV so they have more time for our applications ::) *fingers crossed*

Opening of a new Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Buenos Aires
Citizenship and Immigration Canada has signed an agreement to open a Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Buenos Aires on August 19th in order to make the visa application process easier for applicants in Argentina.

All applicants for temporary resident visas —visitors, students and temporary workers—and all permanent residents applying for travel documents to return to Canada are encouraged to present their applications at the VAC as of August 19th and take advantage of the extended office hours and of the on‑site client service.

The VAC is only responsible for:

•distributing information on relevant visa requirements, as published by the Embassy of Canada;
•receiving applications and supporting documents;
•reviewing applications to ensure completeness; and
•securely forwarding applications to the visa office in Buenos Aires.
•returning, by secure means, the passport and decision to the applicant.
The VAC is authorized by Citizenship and Immigration Canada to receive your application. However, if you choose not to bring your application to the VAC, you may apply directly at the Embassy. Consult the mission web site for instructions.

Hola!
I stopped getting notifications from the forum and I just forgot to login.
No news here. I just checked and it still says 'application received'.
The good thing is that I got my tourist visa extension until Nov 29th, and I have a client ID now (not sure what's so good about that :)).
I know some of you said that you got letters in the mails, I used my dad's address in BA and he didn't get anything.

Did you guys try to get a tourist visa for your spouses or you rather not risk it?

We actually got the AOR by email! But its weird that you didnt get anything yet from Bs As..! As for the tourist visa, we might ask in September if nothing moves.. and hope to get it..! 1 year without each other is really long.. So keep us posted! Its scaring me tho that nobody is moving..!!

ouff we were far on page 3!
so another week is finished and no news..! :(
Anybody had an update by email or ecas? Looks like Bs As isnt working too hard no?

No news here :(.

argh! its frustrating!! me too! and everyday i cross my fingers before to enter ecas to see ALWAYS the same thing! I wonder if they usually update ecas or if we will just get an email one day...

Yeah, very frustrating.
I'm not sure if they update the website every day.
When I applied for my tourist visa extension, I kept checking the website for updates, and always the same (application submitted).
Then one day I got the approval in the mail (with an actual client # under my name and not my partner).
Are you checking under your login or your husband?

to be sure I check once mine, once his! lol just in case.. but I hope it wont be like vt.. who took forever to get news! I was thinking about to ask for CAIPS notes around september to see if they started something but I was reading and it sounds really complicated to order.. im a bit discouraged.. Are you thinking about asking for it?
