processing fees

hello guys.....i allready pay some fee when my boyfriend ''put'' me in his application for permanent resident about 550 dollars and some....and now for sponsorship application under conjugal partner-family class category...is it true that i as principal applicant must pay first...475 dollars first and then Right of Permanent Residence fee 490 dollars..........

It is better to pay all the fees up front......it can delay the process if the PR fee is not paid.......some say weeks and some say months......

paying up front..well maybe.....i just don't understand why i... as.....partner...boyfriend.....why i must pay...well why i pay that 550....is that because he include famly member-me in application..in his permanent resident application....and then .....after that sponsorship aplication where i must pay 1000 dollars.

It doesn't HAVE to be you, it just HAS to be paid. Doesn't matter who pays it, him or you.

Basically, there are 3 amounts that need to be paid in the case of Sponsoring a spouse.

475$ for Principal Applicant
75$ for Sponsorship Application
490$ for Right of Permanent Residence Fee

It doesn't matter who pays the fees as long as they get paid otherwise it causes delays in the process of your application. I paid the 475 + 75 when I first sent the application then the 490 when I was accepted as a sponsor for my husband. All in all, that's all that needs to get paid. It's between you and your boyfriend to decide who pays them.

ok...thanks...well it's not a problem who pays..we agree in that but just i'm confused ../and he/.....with that first payment....the payment when he applied for his permanent resident...he pay for himself 550..and for me another 550.......so i don't know why he paid for me.......

OK, from what you are describing, I don't think you're in family class. If he is applying for PR and including you in his application as a dependent, then it's not family class. It could be any of the economic classes.

He can only sponsor you if he already is a PR or a citizen. Therefore, for the application, you guys must pay 550 application fee and the 490 right of permanent residency fee, for each adult included in the application. Hope this helps to clear things up a bit

Based on what you write it seems he is also filing for PR?

For any class, it's 1040CAD for each adult.
