Processing Duration for PR

After submitting all the documents to CIC , what is the expected time frame to hear back from them?
Please advice.

Impossible to say given you have provided no information about which immigration stream you've applied through, which visa office, etc.

We have applied for permanent residency through express entry. We received the invitation to apply and submitted all the required documents last week.

Anywhere from 4 months to well over a year.

It took me 3.5 months from electronic application submission to receiving Confirmation of Permanent Residence by mail in the US (so the whole process start to finish). That said, I was speedy in my reply to their requests (e.g. Right of permanent residence fee, address request for CoPR mailing, etc.), and my situation was not really complicated (no kids, etc.). They target 6-month processing time:
