Hey Guys. It says on the cic website, that it takes 19 months for the pr to be processed!!!!!
is that true?? has any one gotten their pr in less than 19 months?
I dont know why it take that long!! in USA it takes only 3 months to get the temp green card!!!

It only takes that long if your application has red flags.

For example, Singapore has a very long process time of 26 months. However, just recently, a couple of members had their applications from Singapore completed in 7 months. I asked them about their relationship history and their application, and both were very strong, virtually no red flags. Whereas the other Singapore applicants had red flags, which lead to having to be interviewed, which added a year to their processing time.

How would you get a red flag?

-quick proposal/marriage after first introduction
-either side, or both sides of family not attending wedding
-large age difference
-different cultures, background, education
-no common language
-person is a refugee claimant
-applicant has repeated attempts to apply to enter Canada
-little to no evidence of daily communication or going out on dates and gatherings together
-applicant has more family and relatives in Canada than in own country, this is called a "pull factor", a strong pull factor indicates a strong desire to immigrate to Canada

Please remember, having a red flag is not a bad thing, it depends on many factors, such as the country of origin, culture, as well as how strong is the rest of your background.

You can't compare US immigration timeline for green card to Canada immigration process. Two different sets of rules. Yes it is unfair that people can get US Green Card through marriage in 3 months.
