Hello guys my mom is a caregiver in Canada. She sponsored me and my little sister to Canada. My younger sister was under medication for six months because doctor found out some abnormalities in her lungs. She started the medication last October of 2013 and will end this April of 2014. My mom was waiting for her permanent residency in Canada. The embassy told us that my mom cannot get her permanent residency unless we her dependent are done with the medical. I ask them that if for example we finished the medical and my mom got her permanent residency can they issue us a Visa and passport request and they told me that we have to undergo another medical examination and there will be another process again?! I am really confused now! And about to go crazy! My questions is:

1.) Will the embassy issue my mom's permanent residency after completing our medical report?
2.) Lets say for example my mom received her permanent residency are we gonna be repeating our medical exam? will they also issue us a visa and passport request? or is there another process again? please help me..

If anybody would know the answer to my questions it will be a great help! Your opinion is welcome as well! ;)

1) None of the PR visa/COPRs will be issued until ALL the medicals have been fully completed. No exceptions.
2) See above.

Thank you zardoz for your reply. If my mom have her permanent residency card would we still repeat the medical examination?

Once the PR process has finished for the principal applicant, all of the dependants will already have had all of the pre-immigration examinations that are required.

HOWEVER, it is possible that where an applicant or a dependant has a medical condition that doesn't make them inadmissible to Canada but is still of concern, they may be placed on medical surveillance which will continue after they have landed as a PR. This will be an explicit, individual condition applied to their PR documents.

Last month we received a call from canadian embassy. They are asking us if we are complying to the six months medication of my sister and I said yes. Then I ask them that if the validity of our medical examination is one year and she will end up her treatment after the medical examination expires is that ok with them? THen the officer told me that its ok because our papers are just for the approval of my moms residency. Then they told me that we will still have our medical after mom received her PR! So I was really confused about that. DOes this means that we have to repeat the whole process of the medical examination again? please help me...

The mandatory examinations that all PR applicants have to complete before being approved for PR.

No. Your mother will not be approved for permanent residency if there are still medical eaminations to be done for her or her dependants. Once she is approved, the medicals have finished. ::)

wow  that's a great relief sir zardo. For I was told by the immigration officer who called us last time that there is another medical examination to be done. Well I guess there is just some misunderstandings about my perception regarding the medical thing. Thanks sir Zardo for always being there to answer my question. Youve been really such a great help! Kudos!

If you are accompanying dependents, then you will all get PRs together at the same time.

Thanks sir Rob_TO. That's a good news for me since I wanted to be with my mom. So that means after my mom get her permanent residency so that means we will shortly receive our passport request and visa is it right?

You will all get them at the same time.. They don't separate the principal applicant from the accompanying dependents...
