Procedure to withdraw Online Citizenship application

If anybody knows, please advice, how to withdraw an online citizenship application. On Ircc website, it simply says to send the withdrawal form to CPC Sydney, I dont know if thats the right procedure for withdrawal of online application.

Well, usually, withdrawing applications is done by submitting a webform request and asking IRCC to withdraw the application. I'm not sure if there is a separate request for online citizenship applications.

I tried that 2 times, all I get is a generic response to visit the website for withdrawing citizenship application which says to send the form to CPC sydney, I can do that but I don't know whether this can withdraw the application.

General rules for grant and proof withdrawals
An applicant can request to withdraw their citizenship application for any reason and at any time before taking the oath of citizenship.

Requests to withdraw an application must be done in writing by using the withdrawal request form [CIT 0027]. The withdrawal form is sent to the local office responsible for the processing of the file. All requests for withdrawal of a citizenship application should be reviewed and assessed by a level 2 decision maker or a citizenship supervisor.

Withdrawals on behalf of minors must be done by a parent or legal guardian. If the concerned minor is older than 14, the minor should countersign the withdrawal request, if possible. Before returning the file to the Case Processing Centre in Sydney for file retirement, the officer should review the file to assess if it needs to be referred to the Case Management Branch for review under section 29.

Its quite clear...6+ months of waiting and no AOR, while some paper applicants from March have their BG's completed.

The no AOR issue might be something that is similar to the no AOR issue we had for several September 2020/October 2020 applicants. Earlier, there was a glitch in the system that caused these AORs to be not sent. Some people received their AOR hard copies.

I think this might be something similar.

However...

I feel something is out-of-place here because online applications are directly stored in their systems. How come IRCC call center employees can't see this application after all this time? This is really weird. Even if the applicant hasn't received AOR, the application is stored digitally right from the date of submission. Not sure if these applications were somehow lost in transit (how?) or got corrupted and was never stored in the system (again, how?).

Once applied, it is there in the system. Each applicant was given a separate account to submit the application. Whenever the applicant login to that same account after submission, they should be able to see May be the call center do not have access to that new server/system or the procedures to retrieve those details are still in the works.

I was so surprised to see online applicants not getting AOR yet. I thought recent NS lockdown would help online applicants as applications can be retrieved from anywhere. The inefficiency now got worse from bad.

I just received my FOIA travel history and I am not able to fullfill 1095 with this new data, so want to withdraw and reapply.

I got the same generic response this time as well even after sending the withdrawal form and payment receipt. So I guess only way to withdraw online application would be to mail the withdrawal form to CPC sydney.

I don't think so. Withdrawals have to be handled by level 2 decision makers or IRCC supervisors so the call center guys will only send you a boilerplate response.

I haven't heard of anyone having to snail-mail a copy to CPC-Sydney.

I tried withdrawal of application option one time and citizenship option second time, explained everything below the request, so I am not able to find an option which will take request to a supervisor. I dont understand why they make it so complicated.

You can't take it to the supervisor. Once you send the withdrawal request, IRCC employees will internally refer it to their superiors AFAIK.

You might want to check with @citizenship.enthusiast because s/he withdrew citizenship grant application recently.

You have to fill CIT0027E and MAIL it to CPC-Sydney or your local office(if your file has already been transferred). Be aware, if they have already started processing, you will only get $100 back.

If you don't meet the citizenship requirement, they will probably return your application anyways and send you the $100 back eventually.

You can also log in to your "My Account" which you used for payment unless you paid directly, and under receipts you can request a refund for the fee. I will recommend this approach if you haven't received AOR yet because AOR is when they load the payment on to your application.
So if you are refunded before they get to your application, they will automatically reject your application as incomplete and send you an email asking for payment. At that point you can let them know that you would like to withdraw your application.

Thanks man for your advice, online method worked fine. Now should I send them the withdrawal form before applying again?
