Procedure for getting docs back

I wanted to know if anybody asked for their original docs back while their immigration process was going on especially at a stage like mine where I am still waiting for medicals. Please, those of you who have done it and also wanted their process to continue, could you share exactly what you did, time they took to send you the docs, was the process affected..Thanks all!

Why did you send them your original doc to beginning with? CIC always ask you to submit a notarized copy of your doc except for background check.

If you ask and give appropriate reason, the visa office will send back your original documents, that would certainly effect your timeline.

Well I sent my docs to CHC Islamabad and they wanted originals

Oh! Can you get that doc. from somewhere else without asking CIC?

they are so many. original birth certificate, original degree ( university does not issue another one), transcripts (possible), professional certificates ( not possible to get again).. so i dont know yet what i am going to do..just thought if someone did it, i would be in better position to decide

I have done the same,

I had to send all my original Documents (encluding: My Degrees/Professional qualification certificate almost my complete educational record) as desired by CHC Islamabad, during the month of FEB 2010.

I am also worried about my original documents.
