Hi All,

I received a letter on January 20th, 2013 that my application(which is in Vegreville) has been sent to the local office(Etobicoke-GTA) and that they are pleased to advise me that processing of my application has been completed. Today I called the immigration and asked what is the update of my application. The agent told me that they never send the application to the local office even though I received the letter that they did. The agent did not know why.

I applied under family category and they received my file on July/7/2011

Has someone experienced something similar? I am really really confused and don't understand what happened

Thank you for all the help and advice!

there are a couple things you can do.

A) order GCMS (global case management system) these notes will tell you whats going on (it takes about 30 days to receive them)

B) if you or your significant other is in Canada, you can go to your MP (memeber of Parliament) Sometimes, they can be very helpful !

Its very stressful... many have gone through it successfully,,,,and you will too !

Contact your MP, they can help out better than anyone else really (Even the Call Centre) with issues like this.

1. The Call Centre may not of realized that it was an "in Canada" spousal application. The letter you got from Vegreville is the Approval in Principle. The processing for the second part of the application towards "landing" takes place at an office in Canada, in your case Etobicoke. The processing for stage 2 is about 8 months. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp
