Problem With a Form

Hi Guys, Just finishing up here, I had to leave a spot blank on a form intending to go back and modify it late ( the question was HIS last entry to Canada, and it's ongoing, I couldn't fill that in until this applic. was ready to go), now when I go to that question on the form, its a grey shaded area and won't let me type. The form had already been validated, why won't it allow me to add this date? is it true if its "greyed out" that means a response is not required??

yes, if its greyed out and u cant typed on it that means the question is not applied to u
