Hello, I really need help here. While I was trying to see if I could open an application for the IEC together with the one of the last year, I got distracted and instead of selecting "travel and work(IEC)" I've selected "work". After selecting all the proper options, it turned out that I was indeed eligible for an Open Work Permit. Thinking that it was all part of the pool for the new season of the IEC(and therefore without the need of the invitation, yet)I've stick with it, sent all the documents and paid the fees. Then I found out that I applied for an "online application" and not the "International Experience Canada". Yes, I've made a big mess, but apparently now they could give me the Open Work Permit if I give them the biometrics. The problem now is that my contact in Canada(that is not an employer) said that I have to follow the IEC program and just that, and I don't get why. If I have understood correctly, the IEC program would give me an Open Work Permit anyway, in fact in the IEC section it's written:
Working Holiday
Fund your vacation with temporary work in Canada.
The type of work permit you get for Working Holiday is an open work permit.
This category is for you if:
So what's the problem of asking for an open work permit in an online application instead of following the IEC procedure? They lead to the same document, no? And if it's not the case, how can I make up for my mistake?
Please help me because I don't want to lose the money that I spent for the fees, and I'm afraid I've done something that could give me serious problems with CIC, and it wasn't my intention to do that.
