Hey so last year in April we got a call that we had an interview at the embassy in Ankara and we filled the necessary documents and waited, then 2 days before our scheduled interview date we got a call that it was postponed.
Now it's been 10 months and we are still waiting and it doesn't seem like any person is getting an interview date In turkey from the people that we know here that are also waiting an interview. Has anybody living in turkey heard of any possible date where interviews are gonna start?

Yeah our case was transferred in November of 2023, and we have not heard of anyone getting an interview date since may of last year.
The main problem isn't the wait, but rather the fact that our case got rejected by the Turkish authorities and we face deportation.

And we're still waiting with every possible worst news happening to us.
On top of the rejection by the Turkish authorities after 10 years, my mother got her mammogram test results and they found a lump that was rated BI-RADS 5,which basically means she has a 95℅ chance of that tumor being cancerous.
I don't how much longer I can cope with this.

I’m sorry to hear about your mother’s health. Canada is facing various immigration crisis and a cost of living crisis so things like refugee resettlement has become less of a priority although was always a long process. Would be considering other options especially for immediate access to healthcare for your mother.

I understand, we initially submitted our case in September of 2022 so the wait has been a real killer. But the biggest problem is that we have no other options. We've tried the traditional UNHCR route but they interviewed us 7 years ago and since then every time we call them they say they're waiting on a decision to be made, SERIOUSLY?!
7 YEARS for one Godforsaken decision is criminal.
Do you think it's possible to go another way if turkey denies us access to cancer treatment since they revoked our international protection claim?

UNHCR can only identify people who want resettlement but unless countries are willing to resettle a significantly larger portion of the people registered for resettlement the wait times will remain long with no guarantee of resettlement. Are you asking about getting to Canada another way? If so very unlikely.

Honestly I just wanna settle in a country so we can be done with the stress. The country is irrelevant at this point we just want a place to call home.

I understand completely, man. That constant uncertainty is incredibly draining.

One thing you could try is having your sponsors contact their local Member of Parliament. An MP's office can make inquiries to IRCC about the status of immigration cases. Keep in mind that this isn't a guaranteed fix, and it's relatively rare for it to significantly speed things up.

However, you're also already further along in the process than many people, so try to hold onto that. Hopefully, you'll see a positive outcome within this year's quota. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
