Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
If anyone had any doubts regarding the priority of Citizenship to the new government, the new name of CIC answers it all - Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

Obviously, my statement above is a sarcastic one...or isn't it?:)

What an unnecessary change. The refugee stream is a form of immigration. I get the party wants to show their dedication to refugees. Better to show this through acts that benefit refugees rather than a silly name change. This is the kind of stuff that makes me angry as a tax payer.

There are going to be a heck of a lot of web site pages and forms to update to reflect this change...

Waste of time and money if you ask me (money and time that would be better put towards processing applications).

I've been in Canada for not that long, just over 5 years, but in "my time" I've seen a clear way how things operate here both in private and public sectors:
1. Establish a certain way of operation
2. Take time to train staff to work according to those procedures
3. Slowly work based on the established procedures
4. Build a significant backlog of tasks/schedule delays/etc over time
5. Estimate the needed resources/solutions to cope with the problem that was created
6. Conclude that with existing resources/solutions , the current problem cannot be solved.
7. Purge the backlog of tasks/projects completely
8. Go to (1)

On the other hand, acting this way creates an easy, laid back style of life (for the time being), so who cares...
So yes, lets rename the offices, create new processes, new procedures, as long as we don't have to do any actual work or solve any actual issues it is going to be just fine.

CIC sounded about right. As for IRCC, well, it's better than CIRC, but... Such a waste of money that would be necessary to carry out this unnecessary rebranding.

This is what happens when people vote for an idiot who has never had a proper taste of real life in the real world. A trust fund princess who has never had a job, run a business or had to live like a normal person in a non utopian world. Not what I signed up for when coming to Canada!!!

You can't change a book just by changing its cover.

Haha, spot On! :)

One drastic change that I want to see soon is the repeal of the unconstitutional elements of bills C-24 and C-51... I just became a new Citizen last month and It did not feel quite as special as it should have been... I have been working towards this goal for more than a decade and now my Canadian Citizenship has so little value...

I don't think this will happen any soon. As you saw, they are busy with renaming offices and how to fly/settle/teach and support 25,000 refugees by Christmas.
