please can you tell me if a principal applicant weather from canada or outside. how old do one has to be to apply as a principal applicant for family sponsorship. Is it 18/19yrs and up or is there a specific age like above 22 years?yhks

Hi,

Principal applicant means: The immigration applicant is not alone and have Dependants accompanying with him/ her. If only one single person applying, then it is the 'applicant'. No need to say 'principal applicant'.

The person applying for sponsorship under family class is a "Sponsor" and he/she is not the principal applicant.

Sponsorship eligibility

In order to sponsor, you must...

1.be 18 years of age or older,
2.be a Canadian citizen, Registered Indian or permanent resident,
3.be sponsoring a member of the family Class,
4.live in Canada
