Sharing a recent clarification from IRCC for persons travelling outside Canada at the end of their finalization of PR process.

Lately we have been receiving COPRs via online portal that is separately build for the issuance of COPR. With this, an applicant needs to confirm that he or she is physically present in Canada, as being present in Canada is mandatory for this process.

The applicant cannot choose how the COPR will be issued to him or her -- this will be decided by IRCC. If, for some reason, an applicant is invited to use the portal for the issuance of COPR then he or she must be present in Canada. This is the reason, IRCC is advising not to travel outside Canada at the end of the finalization process, as there is no guarantee that the process will be managed by the outside Canada office (the country the applicant is visiting). If the applicant is outside Canada and requests that the process be done from the country he or she is visiting, then it might add a few more months in the process.

Lately, the IRCC offices (inside and outside Canada) have been facing operational challenges to sort this as well as such other related issues where applicants have also applied for a TRV while PR is in the finalization process just to enter Canada to use the portal. This is causing enormous delays in process and refusals are taking place.

My take -- please avoid unwanted travelling.

Then why the hell they just don't issue the primary applicant the PR so that their family can become eligible for family reunification. If these assholes can issue PR for June 2021 applicants it means they have the capacity to process the 2020 and 2019 applications as well but its just not in their interest to process old cases anymore. So they are just letting our minds rot. Fuck them

Exactly. They are asking too much from temporary residents whereas permanent residents and citizens have already been taking trips outside the country for leisure purposes. As temporary residents, why the FUCK do we want to complicate our cases by traveling out of the country if not for very important reasons. They want to play saints by saying that for our own sakes but actually do more favors to them. If they truly want to solve the problem, they would have done it long time ago, as evidenced by many 2021 AOR getting COPRs. Those from 2020, now with expired medicals, why the FUCK did not you approve these all-passed applications so that you would not have to take time to review these medicals. STUPID. Now another winter is approaching and cases are rising, who knows what will happen to the border restrictions and the process.

I m jan 2021 bro.getting nothing .they are just finalizing feb 2021 onwards .

hey Guys , immigration requested my wife(dependent) to redo medications b’cause they had Exipired on the 28th of July . …she did her meds and submitted on the 19th of August and on the 20th of August our medical review changed from requesting medical to Passed on 20th August 2021 …in less than 48 hrs, does that mean I might be getting my PR very soon. why so fast ..when some are waiting weeks or months for that update only.PS I applied April 10th 2021.

Same. Mine was on 26 march. I called ircc n stupid agent said he can’t provide details about eligibility etc, need to apply atip n that is going to delay your application ..makes no sense

I am checking my application status almost every hour from Monday to Friday hoping for some update lol

My remedical got cleared and post that I got a ghost update. It’s been 3 days since I have got the ghost update. Eagerly waiting for some good news. Checking my account every hour

How long did it took to clear ur re medicals .. why aren’t mine getting passed it’s 3 weeks :(

Mine got updated in 10 days. Also I raised a webform on the 6th day post the remedical to inform that the remedical is done and I also attached the medical sheet provided by the physician. Not sure if my webform helped but you can also raise and inform them. I hope they update it soon for you.
