Hi,
I am writing this on behalf of my aunt who lost her husband today. They applied through Quebec entrepreneurship program almost 4-5 years ago and their application had been accepted by Quebec. They were waiting for the last stages of federal processing of the application until today when we heard about the bad news that my aunt's husband, who is the principal applicant, passed away. Does anybody have an idea what happens to application in this situation? Does my aunt and her son would still have chance to get their PR without the husband?
Thanks

Unfortunately, these are relevant only to Family Class applications, where the application could have had either person as the principal applicant. In the case of Economic Migration applications, the principal applicant is the reason that the application is being processed at all. I don't honestly believe that this has any chance of progressing.

I have a friend, the husband was the main applicant and he died while their application was in progress. It was a manitoba provincial nomination. My friend, the wife, contacted Manitoba and CIC and informed them about the death of the main applicant. The wife became the main applicant, she and her 3 kids landed in winnipeg, got their PR, and now, they are already Canadian citizens :)

they may have been sponsored under a very different t program which is why they were still accepted. In general if the primary applicant does then the application must be withdrawn and family must qualify for PR another way.

Hi thank you for your reply. My husband’s provincial nominee program too. He was the main applicant too
