Hi All
So just been chatting to hubby and he's remembered that he was arrested twice at the age of 13 years old. He's British (I'm Canadian and the sponsor) and was just given a caution and went home, no court hearing or anything. Once for spray painting a garage door, the second was stealing spray paint (urgh, kids). In addition to this when he was 18 years old (15 years ago) he was arrested for cannabis possession, went to court and was given a non-conditional caution. We were already planning to declare the cannabis possession as this will come up on his police check. We are also going to write a statement explaining what a caution is in the UK and how this translates into Canadian law (max. sentence up to 6 months). However I'm now concerned that with 3 different offences this could look very bad and cause problems. Or because he was only 13 and 18 this won't be a problem? Do we still need to mention the offences he did when he was 13? Criminal damage was under 5000 and the theft in Canada would be max 2 year sentence. As far as rehabilitation goes, he's now a probation officer so... I'm hoping that looks good on his part.
What do you think?!
Thanks!!
