Hello everyone !

May be some one can help me with my query. I have only 2 months left on my WP. I got a job offer from a employer in PEI.

I understand that I can send an application to the province to nominate me and then we go from there.

My question is, if and when my WP expires, would I be able to get my WP extended just on the basis that I am waiting on province to reply back ( if they have not till then ) to me or I would have to leave the job immediately and go on implied status ? and would the province consider me even when my WP is expired !! ?

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Not something I've personally experienced so I probably won't be the best person to advise on this one hence others can pitch in with their views. I'm assuming that you're talking about applying for a BOWP - you cannot do that unless the province has already nominated you, there are no employment restrictions as part of that nomination AND you have less than 4 months before the expiry of your current WP. You'll have to stop working immediately if you fail to apply for a BOWP (based on either the PN letter or a post ITA application) before your current WP expires. You'll be on implied status if you're able to apply for a BOWP before the current WP expires.

Some forum members have recommended applying for BOWP even without having the PN letter and/or e-APR but that is a risky strategy (and technically misrepresentation) as you're deliberately sending in a faulty application only to gain the short term advantage of going on implied status. Apparently, it did work for some people but I'm not sure if that's the best course of action. PEI may still consider your application provided having a valid WP isn't a mandatory criterion for their PN application. Hope things work out well for you.

All the best!
