Hey guys,

I am innundated by the calls from these 2 companies, the job they say is a financial analyst ..not salaried position. They say they will train as well as pay for any certification and so on...

Wondering if this is a scam? Looks/smells like scam to me...any exp from new landed immigrants...

It's probably like most of the insurance & investing companies, they have commissioned brokers who perform assessments for customers. Their pay comes from selling financial instruments, insurance, etc. to the customers. I don't think it's a scam per se, but it's probably a lot of work for a small percent commission. I would also be skeptical of whether this is a good job for an immigrant since it requires you leverage your social networks to drum up new business or do a LOT of cold calling prospects.

do you think they are okay?
Not sure how much a new comer can generate income from these..only good thing that was said during the conversation was they will pay for any certifications (which are needed)...but i am still skeptical...but anyway....if not scam then thats good...not sure i will go for it though..

These are insurance selling work on commission basis. New comers dont have circle of known people, so where to sell these policies. I think it is not worth for new immigrants.

Certifications are useful...you know I know...

What the person told me during conversation is that some of those certification CIFC,CSC and likes ..they encourage you to go for it and actually ..actually pay or help pay...dont know there may be other catches as well...
For my spouse (She is fresh MBA) she needs those certification even to get a job in bank ..so i thought what the heck at least they will pay for certification....but thought otherwise...that without penny commission , who will pay ..no one...
So bottom line is to skip the idea..

Certifications such as CIFC, CSC, and many others will be handy to get a foot in a bank.

Check for the email or post the email with full details (e.g. from to details as well). This is true sun life/ Peimerica do offer these positions where they train you but then you have to find customers for them and you are paid when they buy insurance and renew their insurance premium.
These are not good jobs these are not those financial analyst jobs which we think they give it this title to attract people.
