My Wife is primary applicant and I am secondary applicant , I have some queries on the same :

a) I assume that once we get PR we have to visit Canada within 10 months ? Is it mandatory for her also to visit ?
Or only my visit will do ?

b) FOr PR extension (which is 2 yeears mandatory) will her stay be counted or mine will also do ? Or both combined ?

c) For Citizenship (which is 5 years) will her stay be counted or mine will also do ? Or both combined

Both have to visit, the secondary applicant cannot come before the primary 10 Months - depends on the validity of COPR, generally its 1 year from Medicals

Both - Individually

c) For Citizenship (which is 5 years) will her stay be counted or mine will also do ? Or both combined
Both Individually

1) Can primary and secondary applicant visit togather for the first time for stamping ?

2) Can Secondary applicant work and primary be housewife ?

It's not a must for the first visit. The primary can land first.

Yes agree, my mistake.

One addition. Every family member has to finish his landing before the medical will expire. Any other family member cannot finish his or her landing before the main applican. However they can finish landing together.
When it comes to the time counted for PR renewal or citizenship. Each family member is taken individualy.

So the final outcome :

1) Main applicant has to do the first landing then only the secondary applicant can land . Though Both Primary and secondary applicant can land together for the first time for stamping, if they wish to.
2) Once the First stamping is done , then individually they can land and search for the job.
3) PR Extension and Citizenship has to be separate . What if secondary has completed 2 years will he individually apply for PR extension ?

You need to inform IRCC about the new member and his/her inclusion, along with the Birth Certificate and a copy of New Passport issued.

Hi friends,

I am the main applicant and have received my PR landing visa stamped on my passport.

I was hoping to understand if I want to land in the month of February and my wife who is the secondary applicant land in the month of August is it possible.

Do we have to intimate the authorities if so how?

our visa expiry is till September 2018.

Best,
Honey Sood

It's ok. The main applicant has to land first and the depends can land later as long as it is before the medicals expire date.

Question:

Even though it is an old thread, I hops someone who has already landed might be able to gove clarity...

Can I (primary applicant) land before my family (secondary applicants) wherein the secondary applicants travel without me later on?
