Can you please share your own experience? What is the final price (including all the required fees and application costs) charged by Canadian immigration lawyer in not typical case that looks rather difficult? Application to the Court, or alternatively citizenship discretionary grant application, might be needed. Task: return citizenship lost due to officers’ errors. Difficulty: big volume of case materials.

Probably 1000s of Dollars, if not more.
Thank you for the response.

I ask because I have heard from friends that that the amount might grow as the process goes on and become couple of times more then what the lawyer said in the beginning. Might it happen, for example, that I count on the figures you said, thus “thousands”, and later it turns into “tens of thousands”?

Sure - that's certainly possible depending on the amount of work that ends up being involved. Your situation is very unique and we really don't see many of these cases at all here. So I don't think anyone's going to be able to comment on expected final costs.

Thank you!

Can I clarify the question. During the first consultation, will the advisor be able to quote the figure that would be close to the final cost? I understand you might not know for sure, but you still can have a gut feeling based on your experience.

Hm, the times are changing… ten years ago a licensed lawyer in Toronto would ask for 1.5k to prepare the whole package for the PR (regular case, though). With 500/hour rate I would have to pay 10-20k for him just to get acquainted with the case.

Still, thank you for your expertise.

I'm not sure if they will.

IMO your kind of case is likely $5K minimum.
