I have a question about which box to check. I am applying for common-law sponsorship, and as my title indicates, and I previously put in for spousal sponsorship with a previous partner that was canceled due to us separating before my PR went through. On the Document Checklist (IMM5589) there is a question asking if I had been previously sponsored and I am not certain if I should put yes or no. The question is worded as follows--
"Check only the boxes that apply to you and provide the documents specified."
"If you (the principal applicant) were previously sponsored by another person (regardless of the outcome of the sponsorship application), provide an explanation on a sperate piece of paper, including the name and date of birth of your previous sponsor(s)."
Any advice is appreciated, especially if I know there is expertise to back it up. Thanks in advance.
