Hi folks!
My partner has been denied a TRV on 3 occasions. She applied twice in February 2011, while I was still living in Canada. She was denied due to 1) funds and 2) not satisfied that she would return to her home country. I sent her more funds and she reapplied shortly thereafter and was denied again for the second reason. (Funds not an issue the second try). I realize it probably wasn't the best idea to apply twice in a short period of time, but we already had plane tickets, so didn't want to lose our money. Instead we spent around 1000$ for all the documents, notarisations, translations, and application fees. Expensive trip I tell ya.
She applied again for a business trv in July 2012 (well, she applied in May 2012, but they responded in July 2012). She was refused for the same reason, not returning after her stay, and also that she did not have a valid reason to travel. I should note that by the time the VO responded, her trip had already come and gone. (a month late actually).
Now, I have moved to be with her, and we want to apply to visit in April 2013. The Women's Hockey Championships are being held in Ottawa, my hometown. I have already purchased tickets to the games.
What exactly can we do to make our case stronger?
-Funds: she has around 6000$ in her bank account (she had 5000$ for the other 3 applications, but was refused for insufficient funds...?)
-Ties to her home coutry, she has a job here and a contract. I am here and I also have a job.
-There is definitely a purpose for her trip, as she also runs a website for women's hockey in Russia.
What else can we do? This is our last attempt. We'll start the application for PRV in August 2013 I think. But I really want her to meet my family.
Why can men from her country travel for hockey tournaments without problems, but when a woman does it, it's because she's going to be a mail-order bride?
