On the way to collect the documents, One of my previous employers today refused to give me any experience or Reference letter as its their policy to do so. They have however, issued me a release letter where its written that I was released from my duties upon submission of my resignation letter to them.

Now what to do? Its our national character that every corporate people act bad with the past employees. its like they dont care to any of their employees once they leave the organization let alone bother to issue them reference letters and etc.

I have however got reference and other papers from my NOC 0213 employer where I am working now and for which I have claimed the PR to CIC.

First of all check the visa office specific instructions to see what they say in such a situation. Generally you can write them a letter stating the time you were in this position and the responsibilities for the position. Attach a notarized copy of your employment contract (or employment letter that you might have got at the time of joining), copies of your paystubs, tax returns for those years and then the letter that you got when you left the company. It should be sufficient proof of employment for that period of time.

Dear jnathan

If you do not get it from all previous employers it is ok. Refrence letter helps you in two ways
1.) To prove elgibility ( That you worked for one of the 38 occupations listed under MI)
2.) Get you points ( upto 21)

Now in your case 1st one is taken care of. Second one I think should not be a big issue if you have relieving letter You can write a letter describing your jbob duties and telling that it was against company policy to issue any customized letter but your job credentials can be verified from contact information mentioned on letter head of relieving letter

yea, Good Advices from Ankit and Nick.

I will provide my Appointment letter, Salary increment letter, Salary statement from my account, release letter that I got upon my resignation. I think these will be enuf, moreover if CIC wants to contact , they can always do it by calling and at the best by having a site visit.

try to get letters from your co-workers, people from other companies who worked with you, so that it will paint the picture of who you are.

HI

I m from India and going to submit my application in New Delhi may be next month.

I didn't get any Reference letter from my previous employer.
I will provide my Appointment/Offer letter, Experience Letter, Soft copy Pay Slips, Relieving Letter.
Is this all sufficient or still need something else.

Can anybody explain me What is Reference Letter? What are the contents of Reference Letter?

Thanks
Leo

Sorry to say but we are here to help each other. Don't critisize any one on his forum.
Whatever is answered here is available somewhere on the WWW world then why we need such forums??
So if you have some good link for reference letter(Which you are referring to) kindly paste the same on the thread the guy will pick it up and post a thank for you for that.
So idea is to keep our discussion very healthy and friendly.

Regards

I would suggest to get a letter signed and stamped from your supervisor.

The release letter that you mentioned should also serve that purpose provided that you explain the situation to IO on a separate sheet of paper along with your JD's.

Faisal.

Well, there is a difference between asking for an advice and exploiting people's good nature.
The purpose of my post is exactly to keep our discussion healthy and friendly.
Asking something that is readily available on Internet (what is reference letter? sample of a reference letter, IELTS preparation materials, calculate points for IELTS and so on) is like asking someone in the airport to carry your only suitcase while there are plenty of trolleys around.
As I see you didn't provide the "needy" with a link either. Instead you clicked "-" on my rating?
