Prerequisites for sponsor before sponsorship

I'm a Canadian living in the uk and have done so for over ten years. I'm looking to settle in Canada in the near future with my spouse-to-be after we marry.

What do I need to do in order to assure that I will be considered an ideal sponsor for my husband to be e.g. How much money do I need saved etc...

As the sponsor it is fairly easy, as long as you are a Canadian citizen, not on walefare, have a job and can give them some kind of proof that you intend to actually move to Canada after your spouse gets his PR you will be approved. For spouse you don't need to have a minimum income.
Regarding the part of moving to Canada, I'm also a Canadian living abroad and I wrote a letter of what my plans are, with my relatives address as where we plan to live initially, and it was enough for them.

We are also doing the entire process before moving to Canada , so my hubby can work immediately when we arrive.
