Hi There,

Its sad to hear your story. I got interested to write since I have the same kind of Story. I am a Nepalese citizen, Born and lived in Kathmandu, NEPAL single and aged 29. I have been denied Canada visa twice. My Travel history, USA Student visa, finished bachelors degree (2006-2011), business visit to uk, Visitor Australia, France and Germany visa. I was refused CAnada Toursit visa while making trip to AUstralia and UK once denied from New Delhi second time denied from Sydney Australia. I am living with parents, parents have their own house and sufficent land, In Nepal Parents property is considered to belong to their sons, and by law you can have it, I had bank balance of neary 15 k canadian with genuine transactions, my job freelance journalist, no full time job.

It is nearly imposible to have Canada TRV for single below 30 person with no parmanent job from Nepal, dooesnt matter any course of short study or any training thing, or sponcership from CAnada I suggest to apply different category visa for him rather than TRV,to get Australia, USA or other G7 or developed countries is much easier but not Canadian. Canada's so called asylum policy for bogus visitors who are abusing the system inside Canada have scrutnized the issuance visa,, they simply don't want to let in in TRV, they don't care the rest, its their law i felt. I have dealt with visa thing with other developed countries, canada is off the road with them...

I spent nearly 60 K US dollors for my study and did 1 year paid job after my graduation (legal work permit). Canada doesn't bleive I can spend lousy 3 thousand dollors for short trip related to my job training,, I am not even thinking to make trip to Canada in whole life.. I am done...

Hi All,

I have read all the above conservation and want to say some thing over here. I am Nepalese citizen from Kathmandu. I am living here with my family, recently i got married and me and my wife apply for Canada visa she apply for study permit and i did for visit visa but i was denied and she got visa, I was rejected saying that my purpose of visit is not clear. I am a permanent job holder here and my dad have his own business i have shown enough bank balance and i have enough land and property beside that i have also partnership business , i am only one son of my family then also they reject me why don't know because i have enough family tie here to return back but in your case it is soo less so i see very very low chance to get visa because trv from Nepal to Canada is soo hard for normal people they wont believe us that we will return back.

And in case of America, Visitor visa for young people without having good property and bank balance it is impossible they only provide visitor visa to the rich people and the old one who are unable to sustain there and return back to Nepal. In your case It is hard to get visa but Then also You should not stop trying who knows while watching his document the VO is in happy mood and grant him visa.I apply for study visa to America for 5 time and i see lots of crying face over there in embassy interview room who had denied for visa most of the case they only give visitor visa to Old people.

Derai danyabad bai Krish526 and bai Nepal123! I really appreciate you sharing your experiences and opinions. And yes it is sad especially when someone like Nepal123 has proven travel history, financial means but what was the reason of your refusal Nepal 123? What did they say in the letter, if u dont mind sharing?
And you Krish526, how old is ur wife? what kind of study was she accepted in and for how long was the study? Did she go?

I find personally Canada is a bit over protective. I understand their point of view but i dont necessarily accept it all. There are a lot of immigrants in the city of Montreal and other main cities of Canada. Every time i cross by one i say to myself , this person's presence here in my country is a MIRACLE!!! It cant be.How come our friend come ? ITS NOT FAIR. Nepalese people are not terrorists! Cant they have their chance to prove their honesty?Come on...

In my city there are a lot of Chinese people , Europeans , Haitians, Hebrews and Arabs. But the Nepalese community here in Montreal is very small because of our French language. I know one family here, they have a small modest Nepalese restaurant.

I would like to hear more experiences from other Nepalese people. Anyone else? How about a successful story !

Advice needed.

My husband and I have visited Nepal twice and made friends with our trekking guide. He has a girlfriend who is studying in Texas at a University for a couple years and is aiming for her Masters degree in Business management. We have invited him last year in 2012 to come over to spend the summer here in Quebec and he applied for a TRV and we provided him with a letter of invitation , T4, bank statement, proof of canadian citizenship, confirmed return airline tkt...we followed all that was required by Canada Immigration . All docs were notarized on our part and sent to him . He on his side followed all instructions as required and sent his application to the High Commission office in New Delhi.
Because it was our first time inviting someone from overseas we thought there would be no problem considering we would sponsor him.
But to our amazement he was refused because he did not convince the agent that he would return to his country. And the points underlined in the letter was because of his family ties and financial assets.
With time and research we began to understand that a lot of people in the past came here as visitor and refused to go back to their country and thus creating issues with Canada. We do understand more Canada's point of view but what can we do when is honest? Let me explain.
This person has a permanent job and has been working for many years as a licensed trekking guide. When u are a guide you work with tourists and make friends . He once got invited over to Australia by a trekker, he was accepted for a two month English course at a college. He did provide a copy of his passport with visa stamps of entry and exit and copy of diploma of the college.
He also went to Tibet a few times to guide some tourists. Again he has proof of that as well. So if Australia and China accepted him why cant Canada do the same?
Regarding his family ties: He is single but has a loan to help paying the studies of his girlfriend. But he did not mention that at his 1st time application for TRV.
Regarding his financial assets : He does not have much money because a big part of his salary is used to pay back the bank. We transferred some money in his bank account but did not know how much we should put there.
We want to try again to bring him here this summer but think we should do it differently. We want your opinion on this.
He would apply for a TRV again but come as a student for a 3 week French immersion course at a University in Montreal. The course will be prepaid of course. If the length of stay is shorter then the 1st time meaning 3+ 1 week would he have more chances to be accepted?
What can he do to solve the issues about his family ties? and financial assets? How much money does he need to have in his bank account?
This is not married officially yet but is paying for his girlfriends studies, is that considered a strong family tie? If not , please give us some suggestions. It is sad the website of Immigration Canada does not provide advice regarding these points. It seems Canada is only opened to receive wealthy people and a few exceptions.
I also heard that there is corruption within the Imm office in Delhi. Indian employees examining applications would apparently favor some applicants in exchange for some $$$. If thats the case ,that is not fair. Canada should not close their eyes on this and do a bit of cleaning.
One last question, would it be easier for him to apply for an American visitor visa and come to Canada with that visa (if the visa allows him to come to Canada just like our TRV allows a person to go the US)? I would greatly appreciate your advice . Thanks

Hi Oulhel01,

My first refusal from New Delhi had two reasons for denial was for purpose of visit and the property and assets thing. I had not showed it coz I had enough money in my bank acount inculding in Bank of America account around 17 k cad.

Second time, I showed property my father had, fathers property is considered like yours and you are trustee of it, according to the Nepalese law, beside we had land and house here in Kathmandu I had submitted all documents that time in Sydney office in Australia, from where I was planning to head vancouver for a photography course, I got a letter from visa officer with 5/6 reasons, I was buffled, they decided in 1 hour , they had same day processing for walk inns in sydney.. Australia. This was my second visit to Australia. Any way Australia was beautiful and work opportunites were a lot and good weather, I came back, I didnot overstay. Its strange how Canadian immigration treats visa applicants as already " illegal immigrants". I didnot overystay Australia, USA, Uk, And Schegen Visas, whats the reason i will do it with Canada?
