Preliminary Approval?

hi, what is Preliminary Approval? As I received email from University on fee status and it was saying if you have Preliminary Approval then, I may be considered home student for fees and financial assistance purpose. So what is Preliminary Approval?

Sorry, but maybe I didn’t posted my question correctly, what does it mean by Preliminary Approval if you have applied for immigration, as it say if you get Preliminary Approval for your immigration application; does it mean go ahead from NS or PRPF and passport request? May be it’s clear know. Thanks

Ah, sorry, I understand now. A lot of people say "preliminary approval" when referring to the CIO-Sydney recommendation to submit the full application.

But for your purpose, "preliminary approval" comes after you submit the full application to the local visa office, they have reviewed it and the IO has determined that you are eligible - you can check eCAS status.... I believe this would come before the request for medicals.
