Hello everyone!!Nice to be part in this forum.Its really a big help in my situation.I have just arrived here in Toronto last month december 12 2012 with a work permit for 2 yrs validity under the LCP.To be honest I'm 3 mons.pregnant upon landing, just so lucky that my visa was granted. SO i have lots of questions to you guys and I know you could help me.
a.is it possible for me to avail the health care benefits during my prenatal check ups and to my delivery.I will be applying my OHIP this mon.so hopefully i be receiving my health card on march.
b. am i qualified to apply for my EI and to apply my child for the said child benefits upon delivery?
please help me,so i would have an eralt idea with this.THanks

1. You need 600 hours of employable earnings to be eligible for Maternity EI.
2. You won't be eligible for OHIP until 3 months after your arrival.
