Pregnant Spouse - How much funds should I show ?

Hi,

I have an ITA and deadline to submit my documents by the end of March. However, my wife is due to give birth by the end of April. In terms of proof of funding, should we be showing proof of funds for 2 people ( CAD $ 16,135 ) or 3 people (CAD $ 19836) ? Would IRCC ask for fresh proof of funds when the baby's medical is submitted by me ? I'm wondering if anybody has experience with this kind of scenario, thanks.

For now you only need to show POF for two.
Once the child is born, you need to be able to meet the requirement for three.

Are you trying to land before the baby is born? Have you looked at the requirements to qualify for healthcare in the province you will be moving to? Have you looked at the requirements to fly by the airline?

No, the baby will be born 1 month after ITA documents submission. The baby will born in home country and not Canada

There's always the possibility that IRCC will require additional documents. You should be prepared to provide an updated POF regardless because technically that's an eligibility requirement that you need to meet throughout the application process

If you are resubmitting yes you should plan to show proof of funds for 3.
