Hello everyone,

I received an ITA in May 15, 2020 And deadline to accept and submit documents is August 14, 2020.

It took me over 2 months to gather all the required documents. We are expecting a child birth and the due date is August 9, 2020 which is 5 days before the ITA deadline. I have also updated the proof of funds to accommodate the new family member.

Can I submit the documents and accept the invitation or should wait for child birth?
What is the process of informing IRCC later point of time?

You can proceed with the application submission and after the child birth, can inform IRCC by raising a webform. They will then send you the list of documents to be uploaded for the child. Good luck!

Agree i think you can just go ahead and submit the application - advantage is you might be able to "get in the queue" a couple days earlier considering the huge backlog in processing. After the child is born you can submit a web form (linked will be in the AOR after submission) and inform IRCC of the addition of family member. They will send you the list of additional documents you need to provide.

And congratulations on becoming a parent by the way!

Indeed You would need your child pasport, Birth certificate, Updated Proof of fund, Medical done for baby and a specific form to be filled called IM000XXX ( I can not remember).
So as explained to you, process with your ITA normaly, then inform IRCC by raising a webform, then they will tell you the list of docs (listed above).
In any case you can not get all these docs within days. From my side ( I got my baby recently), I has taken 3 weeks to gather everyhting.

Thanks! and Congratulations for the baby
I am an inside-Canada applicant. The child will also be born inside Canada. In this case, do I need to apply for the child's passport?
I have updated the Proof of funds in advance.
