Pregnant and trying to get my husband here asap also pregnant need help..

I am trying to get this application done for me to sponsor my husband. and we are having a hard time figuring out what we need to put in it we have a lot of things like emails. chat. phone bills and pictures and our other documentation for our marriage and these things. but we don t know how it works for my husband application I have called immigration for answers but they all have told me to go to a lawyer and we have been through a few now and no one has actually helped us. with what else we needs. Really need answers if someone can help. My husband in Trinidad and Tobago and we haven t even been able to get him a visa to be here for the babies birth. :'(

please if anyone could give me any information very much appreciated.

where does my husband have to take his medical before we hand in the applications
and Does he have to go to the Port of Spain Canadian Embassy to get them to over look and sign off on them

I also wanted to know what do we need in our application when it comes to pictures and other document with both our names on it cause he has not lived with me.?

What are your specific questions? What does "his portion" mean"?

Do you mean 'this' portion, meaning the proof of relationship? Send in what you have, pics from wedding, a few emails/chat logs. pics with family/friends as well as you two are handy as well. send all that you can!

My husband is also from TNT and we nearing the end (I hope).
I am assuming you are married to your partner?
First off I would suggest starting with the paperwork. You can find all the forms you require on CIC website. Fill them out (suggest on the computer vs. hand written). I completed my forms and basically completed my husbands forms with his input. Make sure all forms are signed. The forms are fairly basic and toucan ask everyone here if you have a question about the forms.
Next you will need things like marriage certificate, police checks for any country he has lived for 6 months other than Canada (again my husband went to POS and had his certificate same day) and the medical. I would recommend doing the police check/ medical closer to when you are ready to submit your application because these can expire. There are 2 doctors in Trinidad that do Medicals for Canada. There info is as follows:

These are things like pictures, phone/text/email records, money transfers, travel tickets, beneficiary papers for your insurance, combined finances, leases, property in both your names, etc... Basically anything that supports the ongoing relationship between both of you. Label your pictures with dates, who is in pic and what you are doing. Make it VERY simple for the officer.

He has to call and make an appointment. He does not have to go to the Canadian embassy for anything related to the medical exam.

You should read the guides provided by CIC on their website.

If you have problems understanding english, you should ask someone to help you. Maybe an immigration consultant or lawyer.

To be honest I wouldn't hire a lawyer unless you have a complicated application and from what you've said it doesn't seem to be complicated. Save your money, ask your questions here. We will help as much as possible. It feels overwhelming but take it one step at a time. It took us a month or a little more to get everything together how we wanted it. Some people have a representative review their application before sending it and they will give you some tips on stuff. Think this costs a few hundred dollars. Wen baby is born you will also want to order the long form birth certificate which will show the father of the child (your husband as long as he is registered as the child's father) As well, if you have applied for travel visas that were denied you can add them to your application as ongoing proof.

Hello QueenD2986, unfortunately there is nothing specific you can do to speed up your application, not even with the impending birth of a baby. The best thing will be to make sure your application has a lot of evidence, is clear, easy to read and understand. You can certainly apply for a TRV; however, they are extremely difficult to get approved (especially from non-visa exempt countries like Trinidad) unless your husband has extremely strong ties to prove he will return after your baby is born. Immigration sees it as now that he has a wife and future child in Canada he would be a risk to overstay his visa. Is it right or fair or reasonable? No. It is the reality though.

You want to consider your options and if you feel comfortable and can afford it, you may decide to have your baby in Trinidad. If not, just brace yourself now to be patient and have supports in place if you do have to deliver your baby without hubby I am sure a few other forum members will chime in as there are stories on here from people in your situation as well. On the other hand, you may be one of the few that gets through the process quickly and that is my prayer for you and your husband. Blessings.
