1. If she gets pregnant, what rights the child will have in canada??
2. What about medical expense?
3. Does visitor status or open work permit status makes any difference?

if there is any link where I can finnnd all this info can someone please help me on this?

1. Child is Canadian citizen
2. You have to pay for medical expenses
3. No difference, in other words you cannot use your kid as a shortcut method to settle in Canada

Thank you.

Thank you for your help.

One question.

Is there any Insurance program that can cover Medical cost?
I know AHCIP is there if i register for that, but does that cover pregnancy cost for Temporary Residents?

Thank you.

you are a foreign worker who holds a valid work permit or other document issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) permitting you to work in Canada, and you also have a formal agreement in place to work full-time for an employer situated in Ontario which sets out the employer's name, your occupation, and confirmation that you will be working for no less than six consecutive months;

Not sure if someone with an OWP and full time work is in same category as "foreign worker", but sounds like she may be eligible for OHIP. If so, her OHIP coverage would become effective 3 months after she becomes eligible (not sure if that is from getting OWP, or from getting full time work).

OHIP rules are not well explained nor are they always consistently followed and different offices or OHIP employees, seem to do things differently. I would suggest taking her OWP into an Ontario Service OHIP office to try to apply, and if they refuse you go to another office and try again.

If she can't get OHIP, then there are insurance products out there you can buy that will cover all the costs of pregnancy and delivery, as long as the policy is purchased a certain amount of time before getting pregnant. Once you become pregnant, it is then a pre-existing condition so won't be covered by any private insurance.
