Hi,

We had applied under FSW-O category for EE. Had been waiting since long, and finally got the golden email 'Ready for Visa', submitted the passports and got the visas stamped. The Visa expires in Jul'22, and our medicals too. But after we got our visas stamped on passports, we found out that we are 1 month pregnant, and the due date is much after the visa expiry date. We plan to deliver the baby in India, and move to Canada only after that. Is there a way we can still inform IRCC, have our COPRs/ visas on hold and add the baby after birth? Any experiences?

@Enthu@123 Congrats on nearing the end of the process and on the news. At this point in time, you can consider informing IRCC and request them if your validity can be increased. The following possibility needs to be considered:

You can request IRCC to keep the application onhold and request them that you will do the re-meds after the child is born and have him/her added to the application.

You can also consider doing a soft landing complete the PR process and come back. Unfortunately, in that scenario, you cannot bring your child under the express entry program.

You can also consider having the child in Canada. I know it is a longshot but that is a possibility too.

All the best! keep the communication prompt and regular to know the best way forward from IRCC.

@daveishan thanks for the prompt. But because the visas are stamped already, and the pregnancy came in after that, do you think or have heard that they extend it if we inform them now? Or may be even keep it on hold? Traveling is not a possibility right now, keeping in view the multiple variants of COVID to be risky.

Till such that the visas have not expired you can surely make such requests. Many of us go through these transitions given the delays in processing time. Best to do more research on this. perhaps you can ask other @legalfalcon @scylla @cansha

Yes visas can be extended even now. Raise a webform and they will probably tell you to submit baby's documents once the baby is born and you will get new COPR and new Visas
