Hello All
Me and my wife are waiting for our OHIP. My wife is pregnant and the doctor we visited asked for some test. Need to ask if i can be reimbursed for the costs that i incur for check up and tests before OHIP?
The tests were suggested by a doctor that we visited in a community welfare centre.

No cost of treatment or doctor's visits will not be reimbursed. Also labour and delivery aren't covered either. Not sure how far along in your pregnancy your wife is. You really should have known this before immigrating as a PR.

we will get OHIP in mid june and she is due early august, so for delivery it will be fine. Just that we need to know about the costs being incurred right now.

Every pregnancy is different and doctors charge different amounts so nobody can give you a good estimate. As long as you don't run into problems and need to go to the hospital it should be under $1000 I'm guessing.

What would be the point of the 3 months waiting period in the first place, if you would just get reimbursed for costs during that time??

All medical costs you pay during the 3 months wait, are paid entirely out of pocket by you. Nothing will be reimbursed.
