Has anyone actually linked the pre arrival services message to eligibility being passed?

from what i have noticed as a trend. pre-arrival comes after eligibility has passed and then BGC starts. if BGC takes a long time then it delays the DM update. if BGC is quick then you get DM

Wish I would receive this legendary and elusive email myself, sigh.

I received pre-arrival services on December 20th and received DM/PPR on December 29th. Mississauga VO

I guess I shouldn’t feel too bad about not receiving dm 1 day after then lol

It looks like you are at the end of the process now. Maybe you won't get the pre-arrival letter, since not everybody gets it. You may go straight to PPR. However background check can take from a few weeks to months. Mine took two weeks I believe, but for some people it takes more time. You shouldn't expect anything regarding dates for PPR or pre-arrival letter, but you can have an idea. I highly doubt it'll be more than a month from now until you get PPR, but can't know for sure.

Hey, I would just like to ask a questions regarding this. My husband received the pre arrival letter then about a week later they sent another email requesting his passport to issue the visa. Does this mean background check is completed and he has been approved?

Yes it does. Congratulations :)

Woohoo! Sorry, new to the thread so I didn’t know what all the abbreviations meant. So, I’m guessing DM means decision made? Is the DM the same thing as the PPR?

DM can be positive or negative so its not the same as PPR. PPR comes after a positive DM and means Passport Request so thats the last step in the application process where you send in your passport and when you get it back you can land in Canada.

Okay, thanks for explaining that to me.. I was just a bit confused because I never got a letter flat out saying that a decision was made, but just an email after the pre arrival letter requesting passport. And In that email it said:

“ This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

We are ready to undergo the final review of your application. Please mail us the following:

· Original individual passports (not photocopies) valid for international travel for yourself and for each member of your family who will be accompanying you to Canada.”

Because of that line where I underlined and bolded it, I wasn’t sure if the decision has been made or if they want to do some more processing once they receive the passport (that’s how it sounded when reading the above bolded and undelined)... either way..this is me knitpicking just trying to figure out how long we can expect to wait for the visa.. I am just so greatful that it is almost over and it looks like the application has been approved.

Thanks!

Hi there,
I got Pre-arrival invitation and Decision made on ECAS on March 30, 2018.
I haven't received PPR yet. It has been more than 2 weeks.
Is this normal?
How long did you guys have to wait for PPR after DM?
Thanks for your response.
